About us

I live in a beautiful area - in the Forest of Dean and overlooking the Wye Valley - and am inspired by the nature around me, and also by my chickens, dogs and children.  I walk and cycle (and often swim) around the Wye Valley.

I studied art and design at Brighton College of Art and worked for some time in 3D design (including as a LEGO designer!) before moving into education.  I taught at our lovely local primary school in St Briavels until my sons left; then started up The Hut.

With my sister, Claire, I cleared out all the junk in our derelict Nissen Hut in the garden; then restored, insulated and painted.  I built a brick patio in the front, overlooking the bog garden and veg patch and our amazing view across the Wye Valley.  I installed a wood burner and new press and refurbished auction finds to create work areas and comfy spaces.

We now have a fabulous space to work in (and to chat) and Claire and I develop designs, make our blocks, hand mix our colours and print up individual pieces inspired by our surroundings.

We do hope you can some come and share our space and explore your creativity.
